(Central News Agency reporter Xu Zhiwei, Taipei 16th) The Junior High School Education Examination held its second session today for mathematics. Preliminary statistics show 77 violations, with "carrying protractors or stationery with protractor functions that violate examination rules" being the most common, accounting for 45 cases. This is a significant increase from last year. Currently, a total of 3 backup examination rooms have been activated.

The first day of the 115th Junior High School Education Examination was held today, with the math section being the second session. A total of 182,868 people registered, with 1,958 absentees, a no-show rate of 1.07%. The Ministry of Education also held a video conference with the Taichung Examination Center's external office to explain the examination situation.

According to preliminary statistics, there were 55 violations in the social studies section, with "prematurely flipping through the test booklet, or prematurely writing, marking, or answering, or continuing to answer after the examination bell rings, and ceasing after being warned once by the invigilator" being the most common with 16 cases. In the math section, there were 77 violations, with "carrying protractors or stationery with protractor functions that violate examination rules for the math exam" being the most common with 45 cases.

Wang Yanhuang, director of the external office, stated that last year's examination had 34 violations for "carrying protractors or stationery with protractor functions that violate examination rules for the math exam," and this year's preliminary report shows 45 cases, which is indeed a significant increase. The reasons still need further investigation, and the final number of violations must be confirmed by the examination area's examination committee's violation handling meeting and the national violation handling meeting.

According to data provided by the Ministry of Education, there was originally one serious violation in the social studies section for "maliciously disturbing order inside or outside the examination room, with serious circumstances," but it was later corrected to a general violation for "making marks on the answer card (sheet), revealing one's identity, or violating examination rules or order, with minor circumstances."

Wang Yanhuang explained that this examinee would involuntarily stand up during the social studies exam and continued to cause disturbances after being warned. After further contact with the examination area, it was understood that this was a student who required special care due to emotional behavior. After communication, the individual case was understood, and it was suggested to change it to a minor general violation. The final decision still needs to be confirmed by the examination area's examination committee's violation handling meeting and the national violation handling meeting.

Regarding backup examination rooms, Wang Yanhuang mentioned that one examinee had a physical condition and provided a doctor's diagnosis certificate, and another examinee with emotional anxiety worried about affecting others' performance. Both of these examinees used backup examination rooms starting from the first session (social studies). As for the aforementioned student who required special care due to emotional behavior, a backup examination room was activated starting from the second session (social studies).
