Elderly woman dies in traffic accident in Daliao, Kaohsiung after maneuvering around illegal parking

An 80-year-old woman named Zheng, riding a scooter in Daliao District, Kaohsiung, tragically died this afternoon after colliding with a large truck. Police investigations suggest she may have been attempting to avoid a car illegally parked on the roadside, leading to a collision with the truck moving in the same direction. The truck driver, 33-year-old Yeh, was found not to have been under the influence of alcohol. Both Yeh and the 62-year-old driver of the illegally parked car, Zhang, have been referred to the Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office for investigation on suspicion of negligent homicide.
