US lawmakers express concern to WTO chief over Taiwan's exclusion from ministerial meeting

Twenty-six bipartisan US lawmakers sent a letter to WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala to express serious concern over Taiwan being forced to miss the WTO ministerial meeting in Cameroon. The lawmakers highlighted that Taiwan, a full WTO member, had its rights undermined when forced to use the title 'Taiwan, Province of China' for visas. They urged the WTO secretariat to ensure such incidents do not set a precedent for future meetings and requested a formal response detailing preventive guidelines by June 3.
