Taiwanese Official at Illinois House Committee: China is the Sole Risk in the Region

Lei Yen-feng, Director General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chicago, attended a hearing of the Illinois House International Relations, Tourism, and Trade Committee on the 14th. He testified that despite the meeting between US and Chinese leaders, the PLA continues its military threats and gray-zone harassment around the Taiwan Strait, making China the sole risk to regional peace and stability. He highlighted Taiwan's $250 billion investment commitment in the US and expected stronger collaboration in high-tech supply chains. He also expressed gratitude to the US government for condemning China's disruptions of international aviation safety.
