Pheasant-tailed jacanas don golden and snow-white breeding plumage, bringing life to North Kaohsiung wetlands

In Kaohsiung's Chouza and Yuanchungkong wetlands, the protected pheasant-tailed jacanas, known as "water fairies," have molted into their striking golden and white breeding plumage for the summer. The species exhibits a rare polyandrous mating system.
