The Supreme Court has upheld a life sentence for a man surnamed Lin who fatally stabbed another man, surnamed Li, during a drug deal in Keelung. In June 2024, Lin became enraged when Li hurried him to come upstairs for the transaction, complaining about the wait. Lin stabbed Li in the abdomen and chest with a folding knife. The courts strongly rejected Lin's defense that he had no intent to kill, permanently depriving him of his civil rights. The ruling is now final.
