The Ocean Affairs Council's Coast Guard Administration held the naming and launching ceremony for the Donggang, the 12th and final 600-ton Anping-class patrol vessel. OAC Minister Kuan Bi-ling stated that this marks a significant milestone in Taiwan's domestic shipbuilding program, which aims to build 141 vessels over 10 years. The Anping-class features a catamaran design with a top speed of 40 knots and a range of 2,000 nautical miles. The Donggang will be deployed to the eastern region to strengthen maritime law enforcement and sovereign protection.
