Heavy Rain Floods Fozu Street and Dongfu Village in Guangfu Township, Hualien; 6 Households Urgently Evacuated

Heavy rainfall in Hualien County caused water levels of the Mataian and Hualien Rivers to rise. As a result, the Madana River tributary failed to drain, leading to severe flooding in Fozu Street and Dongfu Village in Guangfu Township. Floodwaters inundated homes and trapped vehicles, prompting the emergency evacuation of six households in the area. To prevent further damage, the county government's construction units have urgently deployed large sandbags to block the overflowing river water and secure the affected residential zones.
