Trump: China Agrees to Order 200 Boeing Airplanes

Trump, who is currently visiting Beijing, revealed in an exclusive interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity that Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed today to purchase 200 Boeing aircraft.

Trump told Hannity: "One of the things he agreed to today is he's going to be ordering 200 airplanes, that's a big deal, Boeing."

"200 big planes. That creates a lot of jobs, a lot. Boeing wanted 150, they got 200."

However, AFP reported that Boeing's stock price fell after the news segment was released.

U.S. media had previously reported that China might order approximately 500 single-aisle Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, plus 100 larger models such as the 787 Dreamliner and the Boeing 777.

Boeing did not immediately respond to AFP's request for comment.

Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg, a member of the U.S. delegation at the Beijing summit, had told analysts last month that he was hopeful for an order from China, stating, "I think it's 100 percent dependent on the U.S.-China negotiations and the relationship between the two sides."
