Central News Agency, Taipei, 14th — The Ornamental Aquarium Exhibition Hall at the Pingtung Agricultural Biotechnology Park serves both educational and therapeutic functions. This year, new amphibian and reptile members have arrived, including the Veiled Chameleon, Axolotl, and White's Tree Frog, which are not only adorable in appearance but also have very charming expressions.

The Agricultural Technology Park, under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Agriculture, is located in Changzhi Township, Pingtung County. The park's Ornamental Aquarium Exhibition Hall is a popular destination for school field trips, attracting over 130,000 visitors annually.

The Ministry of Agriculture issued a press release today stating that this year, the park's exhibition hall welcomes new amphibian and reptile members, adding new highlights for visitors. Among them, the Veiled Chameleon can change its body color with its mood, temperature, and environment, and captures insects with its agile eyes and incredibly long, fast-ejecting tongue. The Axolotl, which remains in its larval form throughout its life, has a cute appearance and a pleasing expression; its amazing regenerative ability allows it to regrow limbs and even parts of its organs. The White's Tree Frog has a plump body and often clings to branches or glass surfaces with its suction-cup-like toes, demonstrating a high degree of adaptability to its environment.

The exhibition hall also features orange and white clownfish darting among sea anemones, coexisting and protecting each other. Seahorses swim elegantly upright, using their tails to wrap around seaweed to anchor themselves, with the males bearing the task of nurturing the young, showcasing a unique form of reproduction. The gorgeously adorned Harlequin Shrimp always moves in pairs and feeds exclusively on sea stars, making it a highly valuable ornamental marine crustacean. The Amano Shrimp possesses excellent algae-removing abilities, making it a master cleaner in planted tanks; with breakthroughs in artificial breeding technology, healthy individuals can now be stably cultivated.

The Agricultural Technology Park pointed out that 115 businesses have already established operations in the park, making it the largest agricultural technology industrial cluster in the nation. Among these, the ornamental aquarium industry is a key highlight of the park, characterized by high unit prices and advanced R&D technology. The exhibition hall concretely presents the developmental achievements of Taiwan's aquarium industry.

The exhibition hall is open from Wednesday to Monday (including national holidays) from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Currently, full-price tickets are NT$80, group tickets (20 people or more) are NT$60, and concession tickets (students and children aged 6 to under 12) are NT$40. Seniors aged 65 and over get in free on weekdays and are eligible for concession tickets on holidays. Individuals with disabilities and one companion, children under 6, and volunteers holding a Volunteer Service Honor Card can also enter for free. (Editor: Kuan Chung-wei) 1150514
