Central News Agency, Incheon 13th (Comprehensive foreign wire report) – With the US-China summit set to commence in Beijing tomorrow, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent arrived at Incheon International Airport in South Korea today to hold economic and trade consultations with Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng. The discussions are expected to cover a range of topics, serving as preparation for the US-China summit.

According to Reuters, Bessent did not comment to reporters upon his arrival at Incheon Airport in South Korea.

South Korea's presidential office, the Blue House, stated that Bessent and He Lifeng will separately meet with South Korean President Lee Jae-myung at the Blue House this morning.

Officials accompanying He Lifeng on his visit also include Li Chenggang, China's International Trade Negotiator and Vice Minister of Commerce.

Korean media outlet News1 reported yesterday, citing airport officials, that the US-China economic and trade consultations are expected to take place in the VIP lounge of Incheon Airport. US officials indicated that the US and China are expected to agree to establish a forum to promote bilateral trade and investment at the Beijing summit; simultaneously, China is also expected to announce purchase plans for Boeing aircraft, US agricultural products, and energy-related items.

Furthermore, Beijing authorities hope that the United States will ease export restrictions on advanced semiconductors and have expressed concern about a bill limiting the export of critical chip manufacturing equipment to China. (Translator: Chang Ming-hsuan) 1150513
