The Taichung City Fire Bureau received a report at 5:19 AM this morning about a fire at a male dormitory at Tunghai University, located on Section 4, Taiwan Boulevard, Xitun District, and immediately dispatched firefighters and vehicles.

Firefighters stated that the scene was an 8-story building, with smoke emerging from a 6th-floor balcony. Upon arrival, the fire had already been extinguished by on-site personnel using fire extinguishers, and no one was injured. Preliminary investigations indicate that the fire was suspected to have started from an air conditioner outdoor unit on the balcony, with a burnt area of approximately 1 square meter.
