This marks Trump's return to Chinese soil since 2017, when Melania accompanied him on his visit to China. It is widely expected that Trump will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping on May 14.

Trump's delegation includes numerous business executives, such as Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Apple CEO Tim Cook. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang also made a last-minute change to his itinerary to join the delegation.

According to a May 13 report by Reuters, Jensen Huang was not originally on the list of accompanying business executives released by the White House. Sources indicated that many companies accompanying the visit to China are facing regulatory or market access barriers in China, and they view Trump's meeting with Xi Jinping as a breakthrough.
