Central News Agency (Tokyo, 13th, comprehensive foreign report) — Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi stated yesterday at a cabinet meeting concerning the Middle East situation that, as the necessary crude oil volume for June is expected to be secured, the decision has been made not to release a third wave of national petroleum reserves this month.

According to reports from 'Nikkei' and 'TV Asahi', Takaichi mentioned the procurement of alternative crude oil not passing through the Strait of Hormuz, stating that "over 70% of June's needs are currently settled."

She also added, "We will continue to promote crude oil procurement from other regions, ensuring Japan's overall required volume while restraining the release of national reserves."

She stated that efforts are underway to diversify crude oil procurement, including from Central and South America and Central Asia, with plans to import crude oil from Africa in June.

Regarding raw materials for food packaging ink, Takaichi also emphasized that supplies equivalent to last year's volume have been confirmed.

Concerning materials with circulation concerns, Takaichi has instructed relevant cabinet members to cooperate with local governments in response.

She also stated that supply anxieties for medical detergents and other items have been alleviated. (Compiler: Yang Wei-ching) 1150513
