He was trapped and had lost vital signs, and despite being rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment, he was pronounced dead. The cause of the accident is still under police investigation.
The Hualien Police Precinct investigation revealed that yesterday afternoon around 3 PM, Mr. Pan accompanied his 65-year-old employer, Mr. Chiu, to work in the underground parking lot of the Zhongzheng Sports Complex. At the time, the employer was drilling holes in a wall to install piping, while Mr. Pan and a manager assisted below.
During the construction process, a discarded LED lightbox leaning against the wall suddenly toppled over, hitting Mr. Pan who was below. After receiving the report, the police and fire department extricated Mr. Pan from under the lightbox and immediately sent him for emergency medical treatment.
Police stated that Mr. Pan died due to severe injuries after more than an hour of emergency treatment at the hospital. The scene has been sealed off, and surveillance videos are being reviewed, with a prosecutor requested for examination.
