(Central News Agency Manila 13th, comprehensive foreign wire report) Multiple gunshots were heard at the Philippine Senate building tonight, and several senators quickly took cover in their offices. The Interior Secretary stated that there were no casualties. This incident occurred while incumbent Senator Dela Rosa, who has an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court, was hiding inside the Senate building.

An Agence France-Presse reporter inside the Senate stated that at least five gunshots were heard a few minutes after soldiers carrying rifles and wearing protective gear walked up the Senate building stairs.

Interior Secretary Juanito Victor Remulla told reporters that there were no casualties at present, and they were still searching for the shooter.

This dramatic incident occurred while Dela Rosa was hiding inside the Senate building, evading arrest and transfer to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in the Netherlands.

The ICC in The Hague, Netherlands, recently confirmed that an arrest warrant was issued for Dela Rosa last year. He is suspected of committing crimes against humanity during the anti-drug war of former President Rodrigo Duterte, while serving as police chief.

Remulla, who rushed to the scene minutes after the shooting, said that Dela Rosa was still inside the building.

Remulla stated, 'I am here to ensure the integrity of the Senate and to protect the safety of all senators.'

He added that Dela Rosa is currently safe and with security personnel, and has been informed of their relevant actions. 'We assure him that there is currently no arrest warrant to be executed.'

Earlier today, Dela Rosa had called on the military to oppose his arrest and urged former colleagues to resist all moves by the current President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s government to hand him over to the ICC. (Edited by Yang Chao-yen) 1150513
