The temple stated that the "Chong Shui Lu, Ying Ke Wang" activity originated from the 22 Wang Yes (Guest Kings) enshrined in Xinwen Jiaying Temple. Among them, two Wang Yes take turns guarding the temple, 13 patrol the sea, and 7 patrol the mountains. Legend has it that the 27th day of the third lunar month each year is the birthday of the Wang Ye, and 20 Guest Kings gather on an invisible King Boat off the coast of Xinwen, Budai Township, entering the Wang Ye Cave (King Boat Pier) with the tide.
