(Central News Agency reporter Su Chih-she, Taipei, May 13th) In Taiwan's professional baseball league, Chinatrust Brothers today conceded 13 runs to Fubon Guardians in the first inning, setting a new team record for most runs allowed in a single inning. They ultimately lost 2-17, suffering their third consecutive defeat. The Guardians, meanwhile, tied their team record for most runs in a single inning, securing their third consecutive win.

Cheng Hao-Chun was hit for four consecutive singles in the first inning. After securing one out with a strikeout, he then successively gave up a hit-by-pitch, a single, another hit-by-pitch, and a walk. He then left the game after Guardians' leadoff hitter Chih En-Chi hit his second single of the inning. Reliever Yu Chien also allowed the Guardians to bat through seven more times before the long inning finally ended.

The Brothers giving up 13 runs in a single inning broke their previous team record of 11 runs. The Chinese Professional Baseball League record for most runs conceded in a single inning was 14 runs by the Jungo Bears on March 28, 1994, making the Brothers' 13 runs tied for the second most in league history.

The Guardians' 10 hits and 13 runs in a single inning are both new season highs for a single team in the league, and they also tied the team's single-inning scoring record, which was previously set in the 4th inning against the Rakuten Monkeys on July 5, 2025.

Guardians' Chih En-Chi, Fan Kuo-Chen, and Wang Nien-Hao all had multiple hits in the first inning. Wang Nien-Hao had a three-hit game, contributing 3 RBIs from a 1-RBI single and a 2-RBI triple in the first inning.

Cheng Hao-Chun pitched only 0.1 innings, tying his personal shortest pitching outing, and his 9 runs allowed set a new career high. The Brothers used five subsequent bullpen pitchers to complete the remaining 8.2 innings: Yu Chien gave up 5 runs in 2.2 innings, Chen Kuan-Ying had 0 runs allowed in 1.1 innings, Hsieh Jung-Hao had 0 runs allowed in 1.2 innings, Chen Hu gave up 2 runs in 2 innings, and Chien Ko-Lun gave up 1 run in 1 inning.
