(Central News Agency reporter Wu Jiahao, Taipei, 13th) Industrial PC manufacturer Advantech held an investor conference today. Advantech General Manager Lin Jianhong stated that current order visibility has reached 6 months, and the opportunity for revenue in the second quarter of this year to reach a new historical high is very strong. Achieving double-digit growth for the full year "should not be too big of a problem"; he estimated that AI-related revenue will account for 25% this year.
Lin Jianhong pointed out that this year's CPU shortage mainly affects low-end computers, which has limited impact on Advantech, which focuses on high-end products. Advantech started stocking up on memory in the second half of last year to provide customers with different supply sources, and with the assistance of its parent company ASUS, the impact on Advantech's revenue was smaller; price increases were absorbed by customers, not affecting Advantech's profit.
Advantech's consolidated revenue for the first quarter of this year reached NT$2.41 billion, an annual increase of 23%, setting a new historical high; operating profit was NT$210 million, an annual increase of 62%; with the injection of non-operating income, net profit attributable to the parent company was approximately NT$478 million, an annual increase of 84%, with earnings per share of NT$3.81.
Lin Jianhong stated that Advantech reorganized its product lines this year, dividing them into four major categories: application computers, embedded computers, smart platforms, and development boards. In the first quarter of this year, only application computer products declined due to the delayed shipment of a single project, while the other three major product categories grew significantly.
He said that Advantech's business now comes from two major areas: traditional industrial PCs, which show stable growth in medical, retail, and manufacturing; and the AI field, where industrial AI applications are expanding very rapidly, with more and more implementation projects, mainly from physical AI and AI agents.
Lin Jianhong stated that Advantech's order visibility has reached 6 months, with double-digit growth from last year to the first quarter of this year, and achieving double-digit growth for the full year "should not be too big of a problem." From the order status, the booking/billing ratio (B/B Ratio) was 1.32 in the fourth quarter of last year and 1.35 in the first quarter of this year.
He pointed out that in the traditional industrial control market, medical, networking, and smart manufacturing are key growth areas this year. AI market growth opportunities come from semiconductors, robotics, military, transportation, AI agents, and other fields; Advantech's AI revenue accounted for about 20% last year, and this year it aims to reach 25%.
