(Central News Agency reporter Tsai Meng-yu, Kaohsiung, 12th) The Kaohsiung Tourism Bureau recently launched "Wild Fun East Kaohsiung Tours," planning 6 major themed itineraries across 20 sessions, including two 2-day/1-night in-depth experiences. These tours aim to lead travelers deep into the mountain and forest secrets of East Kaohsiung, allowing them to experience indigenous culture and the charm of local artisans.
Kaohsiung City Tourism Bureau Director Kao Min-lin stated that the 9 districts of East Kaohsiung possess rich and diverse mountain and forest landscapes and precious geological features, integrating Hakka, Hokkien, indigenous, and new resident cultures, shaping a diverse and profound humanistic and religious heritage.
Kao Min-lin said that this year's "Wild Fun East Kaohsiung Tours" are planned with 20 sessions across 6 major themes, including "Tracing Mysterious Rock Carvings," "Cloud Artisans," "Mountain Town Artisans," "Mountain Town Art Realm," and "Maotao Roaming." These allow visitors to deeply experience the rich ecology and diverse cultural charm of East Kaohsiung, and also promote sustainable development and coexistence of local tourism.
The Tourism Bureau explained in today's press release that the "Wild Fun East Kaohsiung Tours" launched in May connect the East Kaohsiung mountain town areas of Neimen, Liugui, Maolin, Taoyuan, Shanlin, Meinong, and Jiaxian. The content includes exploring the national Wanshan Rock Carving Site, delving into forest secrets at an altitude of 1500 meters, and tasting native mountain tea in cypress forests, picking fruits, and more.
The two-day/one-night itineraries focus on cultural context, including visiting the Maolin Longtoushan Trail, delving into the Dona Slate Village to experience indigenous exquisite architecture and weaving craftsmanship, and staying in the Baolai Hot Spring Area; or visiting the Qitang Agricultural Creative Park, appreciating art performances at Neimen Shunxian Temple, tasting banquet dishes, and experiencing hemp rope DIY at Shanlin Xiaolin Village.
The Tourism Bureau stated that this year's "Wild Fun East Kaohsiung" series of tours all include dedicated shuttle services. The number of participants for each session is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The first 25 registrants for each session will also receive an exclusive early bird souvenir, inviting the public to visit East Kaohsiung in the summer and experience the most in-depth and warm local tourism.
