(Taipei, May 12, Central News Agency reporter Tseng Jen-kai) The Taiwanese stock market fluctuated at a high level today. After surging in early trading, it once pulled back and turned negative. However, with the continued fervor of AI, and the US Philadelphia Semiconductor Index continuing to hit new highs, the Taiwanese stock market fluctuated upwards, with the main market index closing up 108.26 points at 41898.32 points, failing to hold the 42000 point mark. The transaction value was NT$1.3789 trillion.

The four major weighted stocks saw mixed performance. TSMC closed up NT$20 or 0.89% at NT$2255. MediaTek fell NT$180 or 4.64% to NT$3700. Delta Electronics fell NT$50 or 2.23% to NT$2195. Hon Hai fell NT$2 or 0.79% to NT$250. (Editor: Huang Kuo-lun) 1150512
