(Central News Agency reporter Tseng Jen-kai, Taipei, 12th) The Taiwan stock market showed a volatile opening today, with the index briefly turning negative before surging to a new all-time high of 42253.42 points during intraday trading. The market experienced a high-low fluctuation of 781.85 points. This is the fourth consecutive trading day that the Taiwan stock index has surpassed the 42,000-point mark during trading hours, eventually closing at 41898.32 points, up 108.26 points.

The AI craze and strong financial reports from technology companies led the U.S. Philadelphia Semiconductor Index to continue setting new records. The Taiwan stock market today continued its volatile but firm trend, pushing past 42,000 points for four consecutive days before pulling back. The concentrated market index ultimately rose by 108.26 points, closing at 41898.32 points, with a transaction value of NT$1.3789 trillion.

The four major weighted stocks saw mixed performance today. TSMC closed up NT$20 or 0.89%, reaching NT$2255; Delta Electronics fell NT$50 or 2.23%, closing at NT$2195; MediaTek fell NT$180 or 4.64%, closing at NT$3700; Hon Hai fell NT$2, closing at NT$250.

Among the various sectors, optical communication stocks were the strongest. Joint-KY, Gigalight, Epistar, OptiGuard, and IET-KY hit their daily limits, while Optiwin rose over 7%. Largan Precision also saw its stock price surge to its daily limit of NT$2795 during intraday trading, breaking above all short-term moving averages, due to its entry into the Co-Packaged Optics (CPO) field.

Benefiting from rising panel prices, operational turnaround narratives, and the potential for TV replacement demand driven by the World Cup, panel manufacturers showed strong stock performance today. Innolux, AU Optronics, and HannStar Display all closed at their daily limits.

Furthermore, the popular active Taiwan stock ETF newcomer, "Actively Managed Uni-President Enhanced 50" (00403A), listed today. On its debut, it saw a massive trading volume of 4.1836 million shares, and its stock price closed up NT$0.6 or 5.88%, reaching NT$10.8.

Tseng Yen-yu, Vice President of the Research Department at Capital Investment Management, analyzed that the Taiwan stock market fluctuated at a high level today. TSMC's stock price and the broader market were briefly suppressed recently due to rumors of Intel securing some of Apple's chip orders. However, the listing of 00403A today brought continuous capital inflow into the market, providing strong support for Taiwan stocks.

Tseng Yen-yu believes that the key focus for the short-term Taiwan stock market remains the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index. Driven by the hot AI topic, the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index has performed strongly this year, surpassing many past theories or experiences, leading the Taiwan stock market to new highs. To determine when this rally in Taiwan stocks will take a break, one must first observe when the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index experiences a more significant correction.
