(Central News Agency reporter Chiang Ming-yen, Taipei, 12th) Taiwan's stock market rallied strongly in April, and the catering and tourism domestic demand industries benefited simultaneously, with revenues climbing for Wang Steak, Han Lai Foods, Bafang Yunji, and Regent Hotels. Operators are optimistic that with the injection of business activities such as Mother's Day, Dragon Boat Festival holidays, and COMPUTEX Taipei, the operating momentum for the second quarter will continue to be strong.

Shares of Wang Steak, Han Lai Foods, Bafang Yunji, and Regent Hotels are among the top tier in the tourism and catering sector. While catering stocks' performance has not been outstanding recently due to the AI wave's capital attraction effect, they have enjoyed the 'dining out effect' from investors' generous profits, as the Taiex surged by 7,200 points, or 22.7%, in April.

Wang Steak Group's consolidated revenue for April was NT$1.93 billion, a year-on-year increase of 13.13%, marking a new high for the same period for the third consecutive month. Among these, the Taiwan business unit's revenue was NT$1.56 billion, a year-on-year increase of 11.82%, and the mainland China business unit's revenue was NT$370 million, a year-on-year increase of 19%. Cumulative consolidated revenue for the first four months reached NT$8.41 billion, a year-on-year increase of 10.25%.

Wang Steak observed that the surge in Taiwan's stock market in April spurred a 'dining out effect,' leading to increased demand for high-priced restaurants, yakiniku (grilled meat), and fine dining. In May, driven by the Labor Day holidays and Mother's Day, performance continued to reach new peaks, with single-day revenue on Mother's Day weekend exceeding NT$110 million for two consecutive days.

Han Lai Foods' April revenue was NT$515 million, a year-on-year increase of 25.42%, setting a new high for the same period. Revenue for the first four months was NT$2.503 billion, a year-on-year increase of 16.65%, setting a new historical record.

Han Lai Foods pointed out that April, usually considered a slow season for dining, showed brisk business this year. Especially after the opening of Hsinchu Hanshin Intercontinental Shopping Plaza in early April, it stimulated consumption in Taichung's northern district, benefiting four brands under Han Lai Foods.

Bafang Yunji's consolidated revenue for April was NT$760 million, a year-on-year increase of 7.91%, also setting a new high for the same period. Revenue for the first four months was NT$3.02 billion, a year-on-year increase of 4.9%. Although it declined compared to March due to the holidays, with continuous store expansion driving economies of scale, Bafang Yunji had 1,043 stores across Taiwan and expanded to 15 stores in the United States by the end of April.

Regent Hotels' net profit after tax for the first quarter was NT$733 million, a year-on-year increase of 84.39%. Excluding a one-time gain from equity sale, operating profit still increased by 16.35% year-on-year. Revenue for the first four months was NT$2.46 billion, continuing to set a new high for the same period. Regent Hotels is also optimistic about the peak season of Dragon Boat Festival and summer holidays, as well as business accommodation and dining demand brought by COMPUTEX Taipei and international conferences.
