Taiwan Stock Market Rises 108.26 Points

(Central News Agency, Taipei, 12th) The Taipei stock market fluctuated and closed higher today, rising 108.26 points to 41898.32 points, an increase of 0.26%. The trading value was NT$1,378.984 billion.

The weighted index opened at 41880.66 points, with an intraday high of 42253.42 points and a low of 41471.57 points. The non-financial index was 38069.16 points, up 163.78 points.

Eight major sector gains and losses: ceramics and cement stocks fell 0.10%, food stocks fell 0.86%, plastics and chemicals stocks fell 1.48%, textile stocks rose 0.52%, electrical and machinery stocks rose 0.58%, paper stocks fell 1.08%, construction stocks fell 1.69%, and financial stocks fell 2.06%.

The number of buy orders was 31,276,711 shares, sell orders was 22,898,923 shares, and traded shares was 19,298,164 shares.

At closing, 316 companies rose, 721 companies fell, and 63 companies remained unchanged.

The top 5 stocks by trading volume were Actively Managed Unified Upgraded 50, Innolux, AUO, UMC, and Actively Managed Unified Taiwan Stock Growth.

The top 5 stocks by gain were Etron Technology, Kuoching, Lih Cheng, Chih Sheng, and UMC.

The top 5 stocks by decline were TTY Biopharm, Tian Er Technology, Dinggu-KY, China Chemical & Pharmaceutical, and Fuzhida. 1150512
