Central News Agency. (Central News Agency reporter Hsieh Chun-lin, Taipei, 12th) The Taiwan Railway Industry Union accused Taiwan Railways labor director Wu Chang-Chih of illegally occupying a dormitory for an extended period and allegedly defrauding hundreds of thousands of New Taiwan dollars in "duty allowances." The Taipei District Prosecutors Office yesterday directed the Agency Against Corruption to search and question Wu and his female friend, Ms. Hsieh. After questioning, Wu was released on NT$100,000 bail, and Ms. Hsieh was released.

The Taiwan Railway Industry Union filed a complaint with the Taipei District Prosecutors Office in April this year, stating that Wu Chang-Chih had been sentenced for sexual harassment of a female colleague and was also exposed by the media for allegedly defrauding "duty allowances" by taking advantage of his union position, with the reported amount reaching hundreds of thousands of New Taiwan dollars.

The Taiwan Railway Industry Union stated that according to the "Guidelines for the Use and Management of Housing by State-owned Taiwan Railway Co., Ltd.," employees applying for multi-room housing must be married with a spouse or children living with them, and their household registration must be at least 100 kilometers away from their service unit, with no self-owned residence within that distance.

The Taiwan Railway Industry Union accused Wu Chang-Chih of allegedly violating Taiwan Railways dormitory rental regulations by applying for a multi-room dormitory for nearly 10 years despite being single. An internal investigation by Taiwan Railways Co., Ltd. also confirmed that Wu illegally occupied the dormitory and illegally set up a car shed. However, after the investigation confirmed the facts, Taiwan Railways claimed that there was "no abuse of power in the application, and no personal gain."

On the 11th, the Taipei District Prosecutors Office directed the Agency Against Corruption of the Ministry of Justice to search six locations, including the residences and offices of Wu Chang-Chih and his female friend, Ms. Hsieh, with a search warrant issued by the court. Wu and Ms. Hsieh were summoned for questioning, and the entire case is being investigated for fraud and forgery. (Edited by Li Heng-shan) 1150512
