(Central News Agency reporter Li Jian-Zhong, Taipei, 12th) The 2026 Panasonic Taipei City Marathon, known by runners as the "Back-to-School Run," will be held on September 6 in front of the Presidential Office. Registration opened today, symbolizing the official start of the running season.

In past years, the Taipei City Marathon has presented a fun visual design with a "Little Green Man" pixel style; this year, building on that foundation, it has evolved into a more approachable and streamlined Japanese manga-cartoon style, closer to daily life and urban settings.

The event is divided into 12.5km and 3km categories. Qin Xiyue, Honorary Chairman of the Chinese Taipei Cultural and Recreational Sports Association, the organizing unit, stated: "The Taipei City Marathon is known as the Back-to-School Run, it is the first race in September each year, and also symbolizes the start of the running season. We hope everyone will actively register and participate to test their efforts during the off-season."

In addition, the Taipei City Marathon's running clinics are very popular. This year, they will be expanded and transformed into "Celebrity PAPA Zao" running gatherings, combining the current social running gathering format. The plan is for four groups of running influencers to lead social running gatherings at different popular running spots with different themes.

This year's event also specially invited the brothers and sisters of the YOYO family to serve as "All-Round Leaders," calling on adults and children to run hand in hand on Ketagalan Boulevard, strengthening their bodies while promoting parent-child relationships, and helping children complete their first road race in life.
