(Taipei, May 12, CNA) US President Trump is about to make a state visit to China. Today, the Communist Party's official newspaper, People's Daily, published an article under the byline 'Zhong Sheng,' stating that the Taiwan issue is the red line between China and the US. China has repeatedly emphasized this red line to make the US understand its principled bottom line, avoid misunderstandings and misjudgments, and prevent confrontation.

'Zhong Sheng' is a common byline for important commentary articles in the newspaper, signifying 'Voice of China,' and is a column that speaks out to foreign countries, aiming to convey the official intentions of the Chinese Communist Party.
