Miaoli Woman Drives into Ex-Boyfriend, Injuring 3; Police Find Drugs, Refer for Attempted Murder

(Central News Agency reporter Kuan Jui-ping, Miaoli County, 12th) A 36-year-old woman surnamed Cai recently drove into her ex-boyfriend and several others in Miaoli City before fleeing, causing three injuries who were sent to the hospital. After investigation, police arrested Ms. Cai and found four etomidate e-cigarette cartridges, a Class 2 drug, and two mobile phones at her hiding place. The case has been referred for attempted murder, assault, and drug-related charges.

Miaoli County Police Bureau, Miaoli Precinct, stated today that an incident occurred on the 7th in front of the Ziyuan Community in Miaoli City, where a person drove into pedestrians and fled. Police immediately reviewed residential and surrounding surveillance footage, identified the suspect, and reported to Prosecutor Yan Hsin-yu of the Miaoli District Prosecutors Office for investigation. On the 9th, Ms. Cai was apprehended in Shanjiali, Zhunan Township.

Preliminary police investigation revealed that on the afternoon of the 7th, Ms. Cai drove two male friends to visit friends near Ziyuan Street in Miaoli City. Due to a long-standing dispute with her 44-year-old ex-boyfriend, Mr. Huang, she intentionally drove into Mr. Huang and five others, causing multiple abrasions and contusions to three people, including Mr. Huang, whose pelvis was severely fractured. Ms. Cai then fled after the intentional collision.

Police stated that in addition to seizing the vehicle involved in the case at Ms. Cai's hiding place, they also found four etomidate e-cigarette cartridges, a Class 2 drug, and two mobile phones as evidence. After questioning, she was referred to the Miaoli District Prosecutors Office for investigation on charges of attempted murder, assault, and violations of the Drug Hazard Prevention Act, with a request for detention.

Miaoli Precinct urges that in the event of emotional disputes, one should handle them calmly, communicate through proper channels, or seek legal assistance, and not act irrationally or disorderly due to momentary impulse.
