TAIPEI (CNA) -- Li Dong-jun (formerly known as Li Wen-xun), a former teacher at the Taiwan Academy of Traditional Arts, has been indicted by the Shilin District Prosecutors Office today for allegedly committing forced indecency and forced sexual intercourse against four students. Prosecutors have requested the court to consider the indelible trauma caused to the students' physical and mental well-being and impose an appropriate sentence.

According to the Shilin District Prosecutors Office indictment, during his tenure as a teacher at the National Taiwan Academy of Traditional Arts, Li Dong-jun was aware that the students were adolescents and that the school had a strong master-apprentice system and senior-junior system, which created a unique power structure. Students feared the teachers' power over performance opportunities, yet he committed acts of forced indecency and other offenses against four students.

The indictment states that Li Dong-jun used opportunities such as off-campus performances and inviting students out to lure them to stay overnight at his rented accommodation. He also took advantage of sleeping in the same communal bed with students to commit forced sexual intercourse and forced indecency against four students, some of whom were minors at the time of the offenses.

The prosecutor requested the court to consider that the defendant, as a school teacher, should have fulfilled his responsibility to care for and protect students. Instead, to satisfy his personal desires, he caused indelible trauma to the victims' physical and mental health, hindering their healthy development and creating a negative impact on society. His actions are highly reprehensible, and an appropriate sentence is requested. (Editor: Chen Ching-fang) 1150512
