(Central News Agency reporter Wu Shu-wei, Taipei, 12th) Chang Chih-sa, Deputy Director-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Department of International Organizations, stated today that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Annual Meeting will be held in Latvia in June. Taiwan plans to send a delegation led by Representative Yao Chin-hsiang, with personnel from the Ministry of Finance, Central Bank, and International Cooperation and Development Fund also participating.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a regular press conference today, where media inquired about who would represent Taiwan at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Annual Meeting and the prospects for concrete cooperation.

Chang Chih-sa stated that the EBRD Annual Meeting will be held in Latvia in June, with Yao Chin-hsiang leading the delegation. The Ministry of Finance, Central Bank, and International Cooperation and Development Fund will all send personnel to participate, attending the donor country meeting as representatives of a donor country.

Regarding corporate representatives, Chang Chih-sa explained that each year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs sends letters through relevant units to invite corporate representatives to form delegations. This is because Taiwan's main goal in participating in the EBRD is to assist Taiwanese enterprises in expanding business opportunities and developing new markets in Europe and even other recipient countries through the EBRD. Therefore, this is one of the core tasks of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and it will also subsidize relevant manufacturers to form delegations.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out that the Taiwanese delegation will also take advantage of the annual meeting to exchange views with relevant members on the work being promoted by the EBRD. If there are concrete cooperation progress or results with the EBRD, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will first build consensus and discuss during the annual meeting, and if there are further conclusions, it will explain them to the outside world in due course.
