Central News Agency (Taipei, May 12) — According to the latest information from the Central Weather Administration of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, an earthquake of magnitude 5.6 occurred today at 2:53 PM, 66.8 kilometers northeast of the Taitung County Government (located in the eastern waters of Taiwan). The earthquake had a depth of 22.9 kilometers, and the maximum intensity reached 4 in Taitung County and Hualien County. 1150512
