BNP Paribas Cardif Approved to Operate Wealth Management Business, Optimistic About Taiwan's High-Net-Worth Market Opportunities

(Central News Agency reporter Su Ssu-yun, Taipei, 12th) BNP Paribas Cardif Taiwan announced today that it has officially received approval from the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) to operate wealth management services, marking a significant milestone in expanding its high-net-worth financial services. The company will continue to deepen its engagement with high-net-worth clients and launched a new investment-linked insurance product. As for whether it will further apply to enter the Kaohsiung Special Zone, internal discussions are currently underway.

BNP Paribas Cardif Taiwan (BNP Paribas Cardif) today issued a press release announcing the launch of a new investment-linked insurance product, "Feng Lu Ren Sheng Variable (Foreign Currency) Universal Life Insurance / Feng Lu Ren Sheng Variable (Foreign Currency) Annuity Insurance" (Feng Lu Ren Sheng).

BNP Paribas Cardif General Manager Huang Yu-chen stated that BNP Paribas Cardif continues to cultivate the Taiwanese market, launching new investment-linked insurance products and receiving approval to operate wealth management services, symbolizing BNP Paribas' active expansion of its product and service breadth, as well as its determination to manage high-net-worth clients. In the future, in addition to launching new products, the company will also assist clients in balancing protection and investment through comprehensive risk management and client suitability assessment mechanisms.

In addition, the FSC will launch the Kaohsiung Special Zone in July 2025, and currently, 21 domestic banks have entered. For the insurance industry, six companies, including Cathay Life, Fubon Life, Nan Shan Life, KGI Life, Taiwan Life, and Shin Kong Life, have entered the Kaohsiung Special Zone. As for whether it will apply to enter the Kaohsiung Special Zone after obtaining wealth management business, BNP Paribas Cardif stated that internal discussions are underway.
