The securities transaction tax, which represents the momentum of stock market transactions, collected NT$54.6 billion in April, a year-on-year increase of 2.1 times, reflecting the active stock market and marking its ninth consecutive month of positive growth.

The Ministry of Finance pointed out that compared with the same month last year, the net collection in April this year saw significant increases in securities transaction tax (NT$36.8 billion) and individual income tax (NT$7.6 billion).

For the cumulative period of January to April, the national tax revenue collected was NT$845 billion, a year-on-year increase of 19.3%. Compared with the same period last year, securities transaction tax increased by NT$103.5 billion, business tax by NT$31.7 billion, and individual income tax by NT$15.5 billion, while commodity tax decreased by NT$12.3 billion.
