(Central News Agency reporter Tseng Jen-Kai, Taipei 12th) The AI theme continues to heat up, and US semiconductor stocks remain strong, stimulating the Taiwan stock market to open higher and advance today. It rose by a maximum of 367.59 points, setting a new intraday high of 42157.65 points, surpassing the high of 42156.02 points on the 7th.
As of 9:15, the Taiex Weighted Index rose by 291.33 points to 42081.39 points. The OTC index, representing small and medium-sized stocks, also opened higher.
The four major weighted stocks showed mixed performance. TSMC rose by a maximum of 15 NTD to 2250 NTD; MediaTek rose by a maximum of 30 NTD to 3910 NTD; Delta Electronics fell by a maximum of 25 NTD to 2220 NTD; Hon Hai fell by a maximum of 1 NTD to 251 NTD.
Analysts believe that since early April, the Taiwan stock market's daily K-line has risen along the 5-day moving average, and the current Weighted Index shows both price and volume rising, indicating an unchanged bullish trend. Although there are concerns about an excessive deviation rate from the quarterly moving average, a positive outlook can be maintained unless a large bearish candlestick with heavy volume appears.
