Central News Agency (Reporter Su Ssu-yun, Taipei, 12th) The Kaohsiung zone is scheduled to be launched in July 2025, with financial institutions vying for the high-net-worth business opportunities. The Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) today announced the performance report for the Kaohsiung zone as of the end of March: banks in the zone had 3,736 high-net-worth clients, and the Assets Under Management (AUM) reached NT$455.9 billion.

Shih Yi-chun, Deputy Director of the FSC's Financial Market Development and Innovation Department, explained the progress of the Kaohsiung zone at a regular press conference. As of the end of April this year, a total of 56 financial institutions, including 21 banks, 16 investment trust and consulting companies, 13 securities firms, and 6 insurance companies, have been approved to conduct pilot operations in the Kaohsiung zone.

The FSC disclosed the performance of banks in the Kaohsiung zone. Shih Yi-chun pointed out that the banks in the zone have 3,736 high-net-worth clients, and their AUM reached NT$455.9 billion.

Among the four major businesses conducted by the 21 domestic banks in the zone, first is wealth management services, with 357 clients; second is credit and lending services, with 2,314 cumulative disbursements; third is family office services, with 139 cumulative cases; and fourth is cross-border financial services, assisting in opening 1 overseas branch account.

Regarding external concerns about the FSC's direction in promoting a special asset management law, Wang Yun-chung, Deputy Director of the Banking Bureau, stated that various approaches are currently being collected.
