(Central News Agency reporter Yu Hsiao-han, Taipei, 11th) Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) announced today that it will recruit train drivers in the second half of the year, with an estimated 45 positions available. The starting salary will be NT$42,580, and successful candidates will undergo a comprehensive professional driver training program. Upon promotion to train driver, the salary will be adjusted to NT$50,280.
TRA issued a press release stating that to supplement its frontline driving workforce, it plans to conduct driver recruitment in the second half of the 115th year, with a plan to recruit 45 positions. The detailed examination guidelines are expected to be officially announced in mid-June.
TRA pointed out that applicants must be at least 18 years old and possess a college degree or higher recognized by the Ministry of Education, from Taiwan or abroad. Successful candidates will first be employed as "technicians" at the 9th level of staff, with a starting salary of approximately NT$42,580, and will undergo a comprehensive professional driver training program.
TRA stated that after trainees pass various assessments and obtain the "National Railway Passenger and Freight Motive Power Vehicle Driver's License" issued by the Ministry of Transportation's Railway Bureau, they will be officially appointed as train drivers, with a monthly salary starting from approximately NT$50,280.
