TAIPEI, May 11 (CNA reporter Lin Chang-shun) — The Taiwan Railway Labor Union has accused TRA labor director Wu Chang-chih of long-term illegal occupation of TRA dormitories and alleged embezzlement of hundreds of thousands of NTD in 'crew allowances'. The Taipei District Prosecutors Office today directed the Agency Against Corruption to search six locations, including Wu's residence, and questioned Wu and a female friend surnamed Hsieh.

In April this year, the Taiwan Railway Labor Union filed a complaint with the Taipei District Prosecutors Office, stating that Wu Chang-chih had previously been convicted of sexual harassment against a female colleague. Media also exposed that he allegedly embezzled 'crew allowances' by abusing his union position, with the reported amount reaching hundreds of thousands of New Taiwan Dollars.

The Taiwan Railway Labor Union stated that according to the "State-owned Taiwan Railways Corporation Housing Use and Management Guidelines," if an employee wishes to apply for a multi-room residence, they must be married with a spouse or children living together, and their household registration must be more than 100 kilometers away from their service unit, with no self-owned housing within that distance.

The Taiwan Railway Labor Union accused Wu Chang-chih of violating TRA dormitory rental regulations, applying for a multi-room dormitory for nearly 10 years despite being single. TRA's internal investigation confirmed Wu's illegal occupation and unauthorized construction of a car shed. However, after confirming the facts, TRA claimed that there was "no abuse of power in the application, and no illicit gain."

The Taipei District Prosecutors Office today directed the Ministry of Justice's Agency Against Corruption to execute search warrants issued by the court, searching six locations including the residences and offices of Wu Chang-chih and his female friend surnamed Hsieh. Wu and Hsieh were summoned for questioning, and the case is being investigated for fraud and forgery. (Edited by Li Shu-hua) 1150511
