(Central News Agency reporter Hsieh Chun-lin, Taipei, 12th) The TRA Industrial Union accused Wu Chang-chih, a labor director of Taiwan Railways, of long-term illegal occupation of a dormitory and alleged fraudulent claiming of hundreds of thousands of New Taiwan Dollars in "crew allowances." The Taipei District Prosecutors Office yesterday directed the Agency Against Corruption to search and question Wu and his female friend surnamed Hsieh. After questioning, Wu was released on NT$100,000 bail, and Hsieh was released.

The TRA Industrial Union filed a complaint with the Taipei District Prosecutors Office in April this year, stating that Wu Chang-chih had previously been convicted of forcible indecency against a female colleague. Media also exposed that he allegedly defrauded "crew allowances" by abusing his union position, with the reported amount reaching hundreds of thousands of New Taiwan Dollars.

The TRA Industrial Union stated that according to the "Taiwan Railways Corporation Housing Use Management Guidelines," employees applying for multi-room housing must be married with a spouse or children living together, and their household registration must be more than 100 kilometers away from their service unit, with no self-owned housing within that distance.

The TRA Industrial Union accused Wu Chang-chih of allegedly violating TRA dormitory rental regulations, applying for a multi-room dormitory for nearly 10 years despite being single. Although TRA's internal investigation confirmed Wu's illegal occupation, it claimed that there was "no abuse of power in the application, no profiteering," which the union disputes.

On the 11th, the Taipei District Prosecutors Office directed the Agency Against Corruption of the Ministry of Justice to conduct searches at six locations, including the residences and offices of Wu Chang-chih and his female friend surnamed Hsieh, with a court-issued search warrant. Wu and Hsieh were summoned for questioning, and the case is being investigated for fraud and forgery. (Editor: Li Heng-shan) 1150512
