(Central News Agency reporter Hsieh Ching-wen, Taipei 11th) The Chinese Professional Baseball League's Uni-President 7-ELEVEn Lions announced today in a press release that the "2026 Taiwan-Japan Double Lions Exchange" will be held from June 19 to 21, inviting legendary OB players from the Saitama Seibu Lions' golden generation, Hisanobu Watanabe, Kimiyasu Kudo, and Tetsuya Shiozaki, to visit Taiwan.
According to the press release, the Double Lions exchange, now in its 11th year, has seen its bond deepen after infielder Lin An-ko joined the Seibu Lions at the end of last season. With the opening of the Tainan Asia-Pacific Baseball Stadium, this year's Double Lions exchange will write a new chapter on a brand new stage.
To celebrate this important milestone of the Double Lions exchange, three-day themed events will be held in Taiwan and Japan. The Taiwan event, from June 19 to 21 during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, will for the first time invite Hisanobu Watanabe, Kimiyasu Kudo, and Tetsuya Shiozaki to the Asia-Pacific Baseball Main Stadium for close interaction with Taiwanese fans.
The Uni-President Lions also specially invited Advisor Kuo Tai-yuan, known as the "Oriental Express" and arguably the strongest foreign player in Seibu Lions history, through the Fubon Guardians team to join the event. He will share the stage with multiple Seibu legendary players, recreating the classic style of the Seibu Golden Generation.
In addition to the legendary players, the most anticipated cheerleading squad and mascot exchange activities will also take place simultaneously each year. The Seibu Lions' official cheerleading squad, Bluelegends, and popular mascot, LEO, will once again visit Taiwan to perform jointly with the Uni-President Lions' cheerleading squad, Uni Girls, and mascots, Ryan and Ying Ying, and interact with fans off the field, allowing fans to experience the charm of Taiwan-Japan baseball cheering culture up close.
After the Taiwan event concludes, the Japan event of the Double Lions exchange will be held from June 26 to 28 at Seibu Lions' home stadium, Belluna Dome, hoping to showcase the passion and vitality of Taiwanese baseball to Japanese fans. (Edited by Li Ming-tsung) 1150511
