(Central News Agency reporter Hsieh Chun-lin, Taipei, May 11th) Regarding questions about procurement cases such as public welfare calendars and e-magazine video production, the Supreme Prosecutors Office stated today that promoting legal education and public awareness is to enhance the public's understanding of judicial and public legal issues; all procurement cases are handled in accordance with the Government Procurement Act and relevant regulations.

A former media person posted on social media, questioning that the Supreme Prosecutors Office's procurement cases for anti-bribery animation, detective desk calendar printing, and AI announcer videos were all awarded to the same 'one-person company.' This company was established in May 2024, with a capital of only NT$1.5 million. Six months after its establishment, it successively won restricted tender cases from the Supreme Prosecutors Office, all of which were procurement cases under NT$1 million, not reaching the announced amount.

In response, the Supreme Prosecutors Office issued a press release stating that to implement the Ministry of Justice's flexible judicial policy and promote legal education and public awareness, the Supreme Prosecutors Office has issued public welfare desk calendars over the years and converted some e-magazine content into video format. Its core purpose is to promote law through diverse means, disseminating public issues such as anti-fraud, anti-bribery, national security, and legal education through publications and various media, so that legal concepts can be integrated into daily life.

The Supreme Prosecutors Office stated that the relevant procurement procedures are all handled in accordance with the Government Procurement Act and relevant regulations, and it will continue to uphold the principles of legality, compliance, and openness and transparency in all procurement operations.

The Supreme Prosecutors Office stated that in the face of rapid changes in information dissemination methods, legal education must adopt more diverse and life-oriented forms to effectively integrate into people's lives. The Supreme Prosecutors Office's various types of publications and promotional media embody professional legal spirit and enthusiasm for promotion. In the future, it will continue to promote legal education and public awareness in accordance with the law.

According to the press release, regarding the effectiveness of various legal awareness contents, such as the initial trial of e-magazine content converted into AI announcer promotional videos not meeting expectations, the Supreme Prosecutors Office will continue to review public acceptance, outreach, and overall effectiveness as a reference for future related business promotion, and will continue to refine promotional methods and content quality.
