Central News Agency (Reporter Yeh Su-ping, Taipei, 11th) The Legislative Yuan passed its third reading on the 8th of the "Special Act for Safeguarding National Security and Strengthening Asymmetrical Combat Capabilities Plan Procurement," which concerns military procurement from the United States, with a total budget ceiling of NT$780 billion. The Presidential Office today issued a presidential order to promulgate the special act.
On November 27 last year, the Executive Yuan submitted a draft of the "Special Act for Strengthening Defense Resilience and Asymmetrical Combat Capabilities Plan Procurement" with an 8-year, NT$1.25 trillion budget to the Legislative Yuan for deliberation.
After nearly half a year, the Legislative Yuan on the 8th passed its third reading of the "Special Act for Safeguarding National Security and Strengthening Asymmetrical Combat Capabilities Plan Procurement," proposed by opposition parties, with a budget ceiling of NT$780 billion. The first wave of US military procurement has a budget ceiling of NT$300 billion, and the second wave has a budget ceiling of NT$480 billion, excluding commercial purchases and commissioned manufacturing items.
