The city urges citizens who have received medical treatment there to contact the City Health Bureau, and it will fully assist in protecting their rights.

The Kaohsiung City Government issued a press release today stating that recently, prosecutors and police have been investigating alleged illegal voyeurism cases involving medical institutions. The city government highly values the infringement of patient privacy and medical safety, and has instructed the Health Bureau and Police Department to cooperate with judicial authorities in relevant administrative investigations and subsequent protection measures.

According to currently available information, in addition to Aierli Clinic, there are also citizens who, during cosmetic medical procedures at Guangze Clinic in Kaohsiung City, allegedly had images involving private body parts captured without consent. The city government urges citizens who have received medical treatment there and have concerns about being infringed upon to proactively contact the Health Bureau, and it will fully assist in protecting their rights.

The city government stated that it is currently aware of cases where citizens underwent medical or cosmetic procedures in medical institutions in Kaohsiung City, and highly sensitive personal data and private content, including images involving private body parts, were recorded without consent. The situation is extremely serious.

The city government pointed out that to further confirm the scope of impact, clarify the facts of the case, and protect the legal rights of affected citizens, the city government has instructed the Health Bureau to set up a dedicated hotline for medical privacy rights infringement: (07)7134000 ext. 5801, 5802, or 5803. Dedicated personnel will handle public complaints, and after clarifying individual case facts, will transfer them to relevant agencies for legal processing.

Regarding the medical institutions involved, the city government will continue to require them to cooperate with investigations in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, to clarify and ascertain the installation and management procedures of image capturing equipment, confirm the scope of affected parties, preserve relevant evidence and equipment records, notify affected citizens and assist with subsequent legal procedures, clarify refund and consumer dispute situations for treatments, and demand the submission of improvement measures to prevent similar incidents from recurring.
