(Central News Agency reporter Wang Bao-er, Taipei, 11th) Just after Mother's Day, photographer Liao Wen-Hsuan also brought her solo exhibition "Echoes: Breath" to Kyoto, using fireworks imagery to present a mother's journey. This exhibition is also part of the Kyoto International Photography Festival Satellite Exhibition (KG+).

Liao Wen-Hsuan started her creative journey with street photography. With the birth of her daughter, her lens incorporated more observations of life, and her experience as a full-time mother became an important opportunity for her to dedicate herself to professional photography. However, before this, she had also experienced several pregnancies. In the solo exhibition "Echoes: Breath," she reviews this intimate emotional journey from the passing of life to birth.

The exhibition is divided into sub-themes: "Echoes," "Rebirth," and "Return," accompanied by site-specific landscape installations. Through multiple fireworks images, it leads the audience to explore how Liao Wen-Hsuan found a frequency that resonated with her physical and mental pain amidst the deafening explosions.

After having a daughter, it also prompted a different turning point in Liao Wen-Hsuan's creative perspective. Liao Wen-Hsuan mentioned in the press release that even though her body was cruelly torn apart, as an individual, she still retained the resilience to nurture a bright future. This realization shifted her imagery from pursuing "fading fleeting light" to focusing on the present.

Liao Wen-Hsuan's mother also experienced similar pain and, out of protective feelings, hoped her daughter would remain silent about this painful period. However, after seeing Liao Wen-Hsuan choose to transform her suffering into images, she fully supported her daughter. Coinciding with Mother's Day, Liao Wen-Hsuan also traveled to Kyoto with her mother to embark on this journey of inner reconciliation together.

Liao Wen-Hsuan's solo exhibition "Echoes: Breath" is currently on display on the 2nd floor of the Kyoto Museum of Photography, running until the 17th. (Editor: Lee Shu-hua) 1150511
