Kuang-Tse Medical Aesthetics Clinic Suspected of Privacy Violation, Kaohsiung Prosecutors Seize Evidence and Summon Doctor, Staff as Witnesses

(Central News Agency reporter Chang Yi-lien, Kaohsiung, May 11th) Kuang-Tse Medical Aesthetics Clinic in Sanmin District, Kaohsiung, is suspected of violating privacy, and was searched by police and prosecutors on May 8th. The Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office announced today that witnesses have been summoned and evidence such as hard drives has been seized. It also urged individuals who visited the clinic for treatment or consumption from January this year until May 8th to contact the Kaohsiung City Department of Health for relevant assistance.

The Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office issued a press release today explaining that Kuang-Tse Medical Aesthetics Clinic, located at 2nd Floor, No. 391, Bo'ai 1st Road, Sanmin District, is suspected of privacy violation. On May 8th, Chief Prosecutor Chen Hsiao-chien and Prosecutor Sun Wei-tung of the Women and Children's Protection Group were assigned to lead a special task force with the police and jointly inspected the medical institution with the Kaohsiung City Department of Health.

Prosecutors stated that it was discovered that some victims were allegedly filmed without consent, involving illegal acts related to private body parts. They have searched and seized relevant evidence such as computer hosts and hard drives, and have summoned witnesses, including one doctor and two staff members. The number of victims is yet to be clarified.

The Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office pointed out that considering the significant impact of this case on social order, and in light of maintaining public interest and protecting legitimate rights, it is necessary to inform the public to be vigilant and assist in identification.

The Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office stated that, in accordance with Article 8, Paragraph 1, Subparagraph 4 of the Regulations Governing Non-Disclosure of Investigations, it urges individuals who visited Kuang-Tse Medical Aesthetics Clinic for treatment or consumption from January this year until May 8th to contact the Kaohsiung City Department of Health's hotline for medical privacy rights violations. The Department of Health will provide necessary legal assistance and consultation services.

The Kaohsiung City Department of Health explained today that it will set up a hotline for medical privacy rights violations at "07-7134000" ext. 5801, 5802, or 5803. Service hours will be from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM daily. Dedicated personnel will handle public complaints, and after clarifying individual cases, they will be transferred to relevant agencies for legal processing.
