(Central News Agency reporter Chang Hsiung-feng, Taipei, May 11) The Central Weather Administration announced that Tainan and Pingtung should still be wary of localized high temperatures above 36 degrees Celsius tomorrow. A frontal system will affect the area from tomorrow until the 15th, bringing rain from north to south for four consecutive days. Rainfall will be most significant on the 13th and 14th, with vigilance needed for localized heavy rain in the north. The front is predicted to move away, and the weather will stabilize from the 16th to the 18th.

Central Weather Administration forecaster Tseng Chao-cheng told the Central News Agency reporter that the front will approach tomorrow, and the weather will gradually become unstable. The eastern half of Taiwan and mountainous areas in the western half are prone to afternoon thunderstorms, with transient showers in central and northern areas. The 13th and 14th will be the period with the most significant rainfall, with showers or thunderstorms in northern areas and localized heavy rain possible, while other areas should also be aware of localized transient showers or thunderstorms.

Tseng Chao-cheng stated that on the 15th, the front will move south, with rainfall primarily affecting central and southern areas with transient showers or thunderstorms, while other areas will see localized transient showers or thunderstorms. From the 16th to the 18th, the front will move away, turning to easterly winds, with localized transient showers in the eastern half and Hengchun Peninsula, and localized transient thunderstorms in southern areas and mountainous areas in the afternoon.

Regarding temperatures, Tseng Chao-cheng pointed out that temperatures across Taiwan will turn cloudy with rain tomorrow, with northern and Yilan areas seeing highs of around 25 to 27 degrees Celsius, and central and southern areas 28 to 30 degrees. However, Tainan and Pingtung's foothill plains should still be wary of localized high temperatures above 36 degrees. Temperatures will not change much before the 15th, and from the 16th to the 18th, as the front moves away, highs across all areas will rebound to above 30 degrees Celsius.

Tseng Chao-cheng reminded that from tonight until tomorrow morning, Matsu areas are prone to low clouds or localized fog, affecting visibility. On today and tomorrow, coastal areas of Hualien and Taitung (including Orchid Island and Green Island) and the Hengchun Peninsula should be aware of long waves. (Edited by Chang Ya-ching) 1150511
