(Central News Agency, Paris, 11th, comprehensive foreign report) French Health Minister Stephanie Rist announced today that one French passenger who had been on the luxury cruise ship "MV Hondius," which experienced a deadly hantavirus outbreak, tested positive and her condition is worsening.

Reuters reported that Rist told France Inter radio that this passenger was one of five French nationals on the MV Hondius cruise ship, and the other four tested negative but will be retested.

She added that French authorities have currently traced 22 contact cases.

Rist said: "The key is to get ahead of the curve and break the chain of virus transmission. This is what we and the Prime Minister are doing, especially with a decree announced today that will allow us to strengthen isolation measures for contacts and protect the public."

Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu said yesterday that one of the five French nationals evacuated from the cruise ship and flown back to France yesterday showed symptoms of hantavirus.

Lecornu will hold a meeting later today on the hantavirus crisis.

When asked if France had enough masks and testing capacity to cope with a potential crisis, Rist said: "Yes, France is prepared." (Edited by Yang Zhaoyan) 1150511
