(Central News Agency reporters Hsieh Yi-hsuan, Tseng Yun-ting Taipei 11th report) Taiwan Power Company's recent corporate identity and font design update has sparked heated discussion, and it is rumored that CPC Corporation, Taiwan's logo will also be changed. CPC Corporation, Taiwan today stated that while the design was unveiled at the end of 2024, the logo change plan was temporarily halted in early 2025 due to consideration of company losses.

Kuomintang Legislator Wang Hung-wei stated on Facebook on the 8th that Aaron Nieh won two state-owned enterprise logo design projects in one year, including Taiwan Power Company's identity system optimization design project, which was awarded in January 2024 with a bid amount of NT$968,000; and CPC Corporation, Taiwan's logo optimization design project, which was awarded in May of the same year with an amount of NT$980,000.

Minister of Economic Affairs Kung Ming-hsin today led CPC Corporation, Taiwan Chairman Fang Chen-jen, Taiwan Water Corporation Chairman Li Chia-jung, and others to the Legislative Yuan's Economic Committee for questioning regarding the review of Taiwan Water Corporation and CPC Corporation, Taiwan's 2026 budget proposal.

Kuomintang Legislator Yeh Yuan-chih today questioned in the Legislative Yuan whether CPC Corporation, Taiwan would change its logo in the near future. Fang Chen-jen stated that in the past, due to net-zero carbon emissions and energy transition, they embarked on researching a corporate identity system.

He admitted that the design has been completed, and the bid amount was NT$980,000, but because the company is facing losses, and implementation would also incur significant costs, and requires the recognition of company colleagues, they are not rushing to do this, and it is currently temporarily halted.

Lin Ko-ju, Deputy General Manager and spokesperson for CPC Corporation, Taiwan, added that in response to changes in the external operating environment, CPC Corporation, Taiwan commissioned a professional design company at the end of April 2024 to evaluate the optimization and adjustment of CPC Corporation, Taiwan's torch logo and other trademarks and corporate identity. The design was unveiled at the end of 2024, and the temporary halt was evaluated in early 2025, because the identity system is related to many product marketing systems, and requires internal communication.

Legislators asked Minister of Economic Affairs Kung Ming-hsin about his attitude towards Taiwan Power Company's logo change. Kung Ming-hsin stated that he respects it, and Taiwan Power Company handles it according to its authority, "but I think during this process, it (Taiwan Power Company) will understand how to do better in the future."
