Xiushui Township Mayor Lin Ying-chia stated in a media interview that the period for infants aged 0 to 3 is a critical growth stage and also a phase where parents incur more expenses. Considering the heavy burden on parents, in addition to existing subsidies from the central government and the county government, the Xiushui Township Office has raised funds to promote the childcare allowance program, hoping to alleviate parents' financial pressure and increase willingness to have children.
Lin Ying-chia pointed out that according to the childcare allowance program, each infant will receive an additional NT$2,000 per month, transferred directly to their account. The subsidy period starts from the infant's birth and continues until they reach 3 years old. If received for the full 36 months, the total subsidy amount will reach NT$72,000, and it will be implemented on July 1 this year.
The Xiushui Township Office explained that as of the end of April, there are approximately over 960 infants aged 0 to 3 in Xiushui Township. According to data from the Changhua County Government, the county currently provides birth subsidies: NT$30,000 for the first child, NT$50,000 for the second child, and NT$80,000 for the third child and above. As for childcare allowances for infants aged 0 to 2, those cared for at home can receive at least NT$5,000. If sent to a public-private partnership childcare center or a quasi-public childcare center/nanny, they can receive NT$7,000 to NT$15,000. (Editor: Chang Ya-ching) 1150511
