Tainan Yan Yi Ming Medical Aesthetics Clinic Suspected of Hiding Pinhole Camera, Pingtung Branch Closed for Business, County Government to Re-investigate on 5/11

(Central News Agency reporter Li Hui-ting, Pingtung County, 10th) Yan Yi Ming Medical Aesthetics Clinic in Tainan City's West Central District is suspected of hiding pinhole camera equipment, and prosecutors are investigating. The Pingtung County Health Bureau today conducted an administrative investigation at Yan Yi Ming's Pingtung branch. As it was closed for business today, they plan to return tomorrow.

The Tainan City Health Bureau yesterday discovered suspected pinhole camera equipment in a smoke detector on the ceiling of a beauty room at Yan Yi Ming Medical Aesthetics Clinic in the West Central District, which was then transferred to the police for investigation. After questioning, the Tainan District Prosecutors Office ordered the clinic's owner, surnamed Wu, to be released on bail of NT$300,000, and the store manager, surnamed Liu, on bail of NT$50,000.

The Pingtung County Health Bureau today issued a statement saying that Yan Yi Ming in Pingtung is commercially registered as a beauty and body care business, not a medical aesthetics clinic. After receiving relevant information today, they immediately conducted an administrative investigation. As it was closed for business today and they could not contact the operator, they plan to return tomorrow. If any illegal evidence is found, it will be dealt with according to relevant laws and regulations such as the Consumer Protection Act and the Personal Data Protection Act.
