U.S.-Iran War Key News

Central News Agency

(Central News Agency Washington, 8th Comprehensive Foreign Report) The U.S. State Department today announced sanctions on three Chinese companies for providing satellite imagery to Iran, which allowed Iran to launch military strikes against U.S. forces in the Middle East. Earlier, the U.S. Treasury Department also announced sanctions on 10 individuals and entities, including several companies located in China and Hong Kong.

Bloomberg News reported that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated in a declaration on the 8th, U.S. time, that Meentropy Technology (Hangzhou), Earth Eye (Beijing), and Chang Guang Satellite Technology (Chang Guang Satellite Technology) have been added to the list of entities and individuals assisting Iran.

Since it was Saturday, May 9th, in China, which is not business hours, none of the three Chinese companies were immediately available for comment; Beijing officials also did not immediately comment on the sanctions.

This comes just one week before the highly anticipated "Xi-Biden Summit." The U.S. had previously sanctioned a large private Chinese oil refinery for its ties to Iran, at which time Beijing demanded that relevant companies not cooperate.

The U.S. State Department stated that Meentropy Technology published open-source imagery that extensively documented U.S. military activities during "Operation Epic Fury," while Earth Eye provided satellite imagery to Iran.

The statement noted that Chang Guang Satellite, at Tehran's request, collected data on U.S. and allied forces, and this company had also been previously sanctioned by the U.S. (Translator: Chang Ming-hsuan) 1150509
